After Karachi, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity for other consumers in the country.
According to the Nepra announcement, electricity has been increased by 9 rupees 90 paisa per unit for all other discos except K-electric.
Nepra has issued a notification to increase the price of electricity by Rs 9.90 per unit through June fuel price adjustment.
According to the statement, CPPAG had requested an increase of Rs 9 91 paise per unit, but Nepra approved an increase of Rs 9 90 paise per unit.
According to the notification, the 10 electricity distribution companies will charge consumers the June fuel price adjustment increment in their August bills.
According to the notification, this increase will be applicable only for one month, with the latest decision of Nepra, there will be an additional burden of 156 billion rupees on the electricity consumers.
According to the notification, earlier May FCA customers were charged Rs 7 71 paise, which was only for one month, which will be charged Rs 1 99 paise more in June than in May.
According to the notification, June monthly fuel charges adjustment will be applicable only on June, August bills.
According to the notification, the increase will not be applicable to Lifeline customers consuming up to 100 units of electricity per month.
Before this, Nepra made a historic increase in the electricity price for the consumers of Karachi and under the fuel price adjustment in June, electricity was increased by 11 rupees 10 paise per unit.
