The Awami National Party (ANP) has announced its support to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan in the by-election for National Assembly Constituency 245.
ANP Sindh president Shahi Syed and MQM leader Waseem Akhtar held a joint press conference in Karachi.
Shahi Syed said that ANP will support MQM in the NA-245 by-election, and we will also cooperate with each other in the local body elections.
He said that we want an empowered local government system, if the mayor does not have the authority, what will he do with it?
The President of ANP Sindh further said that we are trying to get maximum number of seats in local body elections.
Wasim Akhtar said that ANP will fully support MQM in NA-245, for which he thanked him.
He said that even in the local body elections, we will stand together wherever necessary, we will together give a message of peace for the province, city and the country.
The MQM leader said that time is needed that we take this country forward by agreement, all political parties agree to fix the local government system, I assure you that we are together and are also together in the local government elections. .
On the recent tense situation in Sindh, Shahi Syed said that what happened in Hyderabad and then the shops and hotels that were closed, we condemn everything.
He said that this is not the work of Sindhis, nor of Pakhtuns, it is only the work of terrorists. The government should deal strictly with these terrorists.
President of ANP Sindh said that the business of Pakhtuns should be opened and they should be protected, what happened at Sohrab Goth yesterday is very wrong.
He said that after the decision of the Supreme Court, now it is the task of the Parliament to decide whether it falls under the category of treason or not.
